I found that I slept well about half the night, while being distracted the rest of it resulting in the old ‘tossing and turning.’

This Tensleep Station 4 tent is probably one of the most flexible tents I’ve seen in some time. There are so many ways to configure it that I lost count while taking photographs of all the options. The rain fly can be pulled down, rolled up, one side up and one side down, pulled out as an awning, and so on and so on. Set up was quite easy, although I forgot one step, which you’ll see in the video.

If you love to have space when you camp, this tent could be just right. First, you get a 68” head height, and not just at the very peak. Then you get relatively vertical sidewalls, so you can honestly use all 65 square feet of floor space inside the tent. An angled vestibule area (31 more square feet) gives you a shady spot to read or enjoy your morning coffee. Two pockets on each of the vestibule sidewalls will hold your maps or books, and the screened windows will enable cross ventilation if desired.
Ventilation is one of the main features of this tent, with screens on all sides. The front door is all screen and enables anyone to enter without bending down much at all. (Active seniors will appreciate that.) Both side walls have continuous screening, the full width of the tent. On the back wall, there’s a full size door there as well, but the door is solid (no screen option.) Above the door however, there is a screen clerestory window with a hold-open flap for cross ventilation.
The front vestibule can be fully extended like an awning, using a couple walking sticks, but you’ll need to supply your own guy ropes for those. The front vestibule can also be left fully open, rolling it up and fastening it to the support pole above. Out back, there’s a mini vestibule, big enough for boots and messy clothes that you don’t want to keep in the tent.
This is definitely a car camping tent, weighing in at 14 pounds, but it easily fits into the supplied carrying case and folds down to a 5” thick x 15” x 27” package that stores nicely in your trunk. Make sure to order the matching footprint (groundcloth), it’ll keep your tent much cleaner and help protect your tent floor.
Overall, I was very impressed with the Tensleep Station 4. It’s a tent we’ll use time and time again.
Tensleep Station 4 Specs:
- Two large doors and two vestibules
- Extra large front vestibule has windows with two closure options:mesh only for ventilation or zip up the polyester layer for complete closure.
- Front vestibule with awning style door that can be staked out as a shade.
- Fly wall can be rolled up to expose mesh wall for increased ventilation and visibility.
- Reflective guylines and webbing on tent corners.
- Fly is polyester rip-stop and floor is polyester.
- Fly and floor have 1500mm waterproof polyurethane coating.
- Tent body is polyester rip-stop and polyester mesh.
- All seams taped with waterproof, solvent-free polyurethane tape (No PVC or VOC’s)
- Lightweight aluminum pole system with press fit connectors.
- Plastic clips and sleeve attach tent body to pole frame.
- 17 lightweight aluminum hook stakes.
- 8 interior mesh pockets and 4 pockets in vestibule.
- Briefcase style carry bag with shoulder straps and organizational pockets.
- Gear loft loops included: Fits Big Agnes TRAPEZOID gear loft – sold separately
- Footprint sold separately.
