It’s long weekend time again and we decided to drive up the coast to Booti Booti National Park for another camping trip.
Forster is the closest town to the national park and besides from its nice city beach very unspectacular and red neck capital. The latter was very funny for us but apparently we had a disturbing effect on the locals. A friendly super market employee assured us that we have big signs on our foreheads saying ‘not from here’. I say that’s a good thing!
Booti Booti NP is awesome because it’s full of stunning beaches as well as really dense bush and wildlife so there’s something in there for everyone! We saw a lot of wildlife this weekend, i.e. a big lizard walking across the road, a kangaroo, lots of kookaburra, dolphins and even a breaching whale on our last morning at the beach. How amazing is that?!
But from the beginning: our camp site was right next to the beach so we went to the beach in the mornings…
…the afternoon….
…and in the evenings 🙂
That’s a lot of beach time but it doesn’t stop just there: We also went to Seal Rocks and walked up to the lighthouse.
Amazingly pretty, right? But that’s not everything, we saw dolphins from up the lighthouse! How cool is that? The next highlight on our list was the oldest and tallest tree in NSW, the eucalyptus grandis!
Stunning, right? And there were so many birds chatting it away, it was actually quite loud, haha. This short trip was one of the best trips ever. I still feel so relaxed and energized. Australia is a truly pretty country! Oh yeah, and we stopped at Tea Garden and Hawk’s Nest on our way back to Sydney. Why? Because there are more stunning beaches!
